Have her write every day, and keep it simple. She can retell her day, and then show it to Daddy when he comes home. Note, TO YOURSELF, her errors and then positively show her another way to write her sentences. Keep reading to her, but make it a chapter book you like! I got Daniel the "poem a week" book, which has word flash cards and an activity for each week. There's also a great workbook I didn't pick up - bridging the year from k-1, 1-2, 2-3, and so on.
